Luke 5:1-7
Yes, Lord, I’ll obey. This may be difficult in the beginning, but a simple “yes” to the will of God will bring lasting, beneficial results. Just like with the disciples who had been fishing all night long and had not caught one fish. Jesus recognized their distress and made a request – to let down their nets one more time. Reluctantly, Peter answered, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net”.
Obedience to God may appear unreasonable sometimes or even foolish at times. But the bible says in I Corinthians 1:27, “but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise”. We must trust God in all situations. He has infinite wisdom, knowledge and understanding. When we say “yes” to God, our outcome will be successful and victorious. Peter’s “yes” resulted in two boatloads of fish that caused the net to break!
Will your response to God be “yes”? Remember, he knows the outcome from the beginning.
